Wine Down Wednesday: 1000 Stories Zinfandel

This is the first season I have watched the Bachelor in a while, and all I can think is “is this for real?”.   Last night’s episode was so scripted it isn’t even funny folks. Of course the 2 on 1 date was between Taylor and Corinne. Hmmm…wonder how that happened? What I don’t understand is if Nick claims he wants to find love so much than why is he on a show where the producers call the shots? Clearly they kept Corinne solely for ratings. Then Nick conveniently pulls out a ouija board aka a “weejee” board in the middle of the group date because it just happened to be right there. yea right. And who has a group date in a haunted house? I can’t tell which one I would rather have the swamp or the haunted house. I do not envy these girls one bit. Really looking forward to next week’s episode when Taylor comes back to “speak her truth” and looks like her and Corinne both get the ax.  And then cue the tears…from Nick!  Seriously dude, stop sleeping with girls and asking them to marry you…on reality tv.  Ah this show is so bad yet it is so good.  It is like a train wreck where you cannot stop watching.  And watching with a glass of wine is even better…

Wine of the week: 1000 Stories Zinfandel

You know when you just have that “go-to” wine? Maybe you’re away on vacation on some island or need a bottle to bring to a dinner party and you spot it on the shelves.  A sense of calm rushes in and you can breathe easy knowing with 100% confidence this one won’t disappoint. There are only a few wines I feel this way about, and this 1000 Stories Zin is one of them. It is a fan favorite and tastes way more expensive than it is. They sell it at most local wine stores. Total Wine sells it for $18.99 but you can get it case price for $13.95 on empirewine.com. This zinfandel is what they call a “porch pounder”…I will drink to that!
