THE BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate-Chip-Cookies_square.jpg

So usually the recipes you find on this blog will be healthy, BUT if you follow me you know I always preach about balance. And that means I strongly believe in treating yourself. Especially if you’re pregnant right now like me. I mean food is always life, but that really applies when you’re with child. I always have a thing for cookies, but when I was pregnant with Stella I literally baked chocolate chip cookies 1x a week. And during all of that baking and recipe testing, I came up with a really freaking good Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie with Sea Salt recipe. I mean you guys, it is THAT good. I brought some over to new neighbors a couple weeks ago, and they seriously cannot stop raving about how these are the best they’ve had. Maybe they’re just being nice, but these are pretty special.

Make these. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 sticks salted butter, browned

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp of corn starch

  •  1 teaspoon baking soda

  • sea salt, a sprinkle

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  •  1.5 cups of dark choc chips and milk or semi sweet chips

  •  pink sea salt to sprinkle on top

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350.

Brown the butter and make sure to cool completely. or at least 20 - 30 mins before you use it.

Whisk together the flour, baking soda, corn starch and sea salt w a fork in a large bowl.

In a mixer, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter until mixed well and forms a paste. Add in the eggs and vanilla. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients being careful not to overmix. Add in the chocolate chips.

*Chill dough for at least 1 hour. Optimal up to 2 hours and can definitely make ahead and leave in fridge or freezer overnnight.

Using a cookie scoop (or measure out a tbsp), place on your parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt and bake for 8-10 minutes. The cookies won’t look done, but as long as they are slightly browned on the edges you should take them out and let cool.
