Hold the Wine, Please.

Yes, that’s right…I am pregnant! No wine for wineabs until October! You may be wondering what this means for wineabs? No need to worry, the focus of this blog will still remain dedicated to a healthy well-balanced lifestyle. I will continue to post delicious recipes and incorporate aspects of fitness and nutrition when relevant. However as my life evolves, so will my blog. And here I am! 13 weeks prego and evolving like crazy!

Naturally I want to share my pregnancy journey with you. By no means am I an expert in this department, but I am learning as I go how to handle all the ebbs and flows in the healthiest way. And if we are being honest here, sometimes that means a whole bag of sour patch gummy candy. Eek. All sour gummies are my jam and I crave them on the regular, which is bizarre because I can’t remember the last time I consumed them. Basically if it contains sugar and is sweet I want it. Luckily fruit is also on the list. I cannot get enough of that either.

The past few months I have felt like such a fraud on this blog and instagram. Here I am posting all of these healthy food photos of salmon and grilled chicken fajitas when I could barely look at it for 5 seconds without wanting to vomit. Hah. I apologize, but I know you understand. Luckily I skipped the morning sickness, but I am still having aversions to salmon, some chicken, and certain veggies (green beans=vomit). Some other struggles are out of control hormones that dictate your moods and your complexion (and not in a good way…still waiting on a “pregnancy glow”).  Then there is the complete lack of energy.  It’s like everything you have goes to developing your small baby the first few months, and I was left almost lifeless some days. Good news is I already feel it coming back and it’s glorious!  Moments like I had last week though make it all worth it.  During our genetic screening we were able to see our little peanut doing back flips and wiggling around, and it truly was the best 20 minutes of my life. All the feels over here!

Buckle up guys! The next few months are going to be full of delicious eats, lots of laughs, and lots of “feelings”!  I would love to hear advice from other pregnant ladies or experienced mommas, so please feel free to comment below on any of my posts.
