My Summer Survival Guide: For Your Skin

Memorial Day Weekend is behind us and now the unofficial start to Summer has commenced! For many this means lots of time in the sun, pool, ocean, cocktails al fresco, and if you’re anything like me...lots of sweat. Hah. Like you would change your wardrobe to accommodate the change in seasons, it is also important to appropriately prep your skin as well! I put together below a list of my go-to skincare essentials for the hot summer months. The combination of these will keep your skin protected, moisturized, and glowing.

  1. Countersun Daily Sheer Defense For Face - Unless you are living under a rock, this is a must for anyone in your family. However it is also incredibly important to wear some form of daily protection whether you are at the beach or not. This is where this little gem comes to play. It is lightweight and provides protection from UVA, UVB, and HEV blue light rays without that chalky white residue. Antioxidants help protect skin from pollution, while chicory root extract supports skin’s moisture barrier to lock in hydration. Bonus- it doesn’t even smell like sunscreen. I wear it EVERY day. It works well under your makeup too. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this product.

  2. Countersun Mineral Sunscreen Mist SPF 30: Have unruly toddlers where the struggle is real to get sunscreen on their little bodies? This is for you. I also love our Countersun Mineral Sunscreen Stick for the face. I have been using Beautycounter sunscreen on Stella too ever since she was a baby. It works great for the whole family.

Added Benefits in all of Beautycounter’s sunscreen:

  • Provides protection from UVA, UVB, and HEV blue light rays

  • Oxybenzone-free, Octinoxate-free, Reef-friendly

  • Mineral vs. Chemical Sunscreen: instead of chemical fillers we use nano zinc oxide, a mineral (physical) blocker that sits on the surface of the skin and bounces sun’s rays away.

3. Counter + Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm: This is the added moisture your skin needs after being in the sun all day!~ Use as a mask overnight or simply as a face wash to cleanse and remove makeup.

4. Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser: Keeping skin moisturized is a must, but the high humidity and increased sweating (me!) can clog up those pores. I use this every morning to keep my pores clear and to prevent breakouts. I apply to skin dry and then wash away with warm water.

5. All Bright C Serum: Let’s get the summer glow on point! This is what you need in your life! All of my clients who make this purchase are instantly happy! ALL of them. This instantly boosts skin's radiance with vitamin and turmeric. It works over time to rid the skin of dark spots, minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles. SOLD.

6. Illuminating Cream Highlighter in “Bronze Glow”: This little magic stick in “bronze glow” lives up to its name. Perfect for a night out in that cute sundress and wedges. Can you just picture it now? I can.

7. The Jellies Duos: Keep your lips hydrated and glossy at the same time! I am obsessed with these and literally have them in every single room of my home plus one in the diaper bag and my other bag. You can never get enough of them. My faves are the orange cream + honey.

8. Silicone Body Brush: This one is ideal for getting all of that sunscreen off and especially great for your kiddos! I use it on my babies in the bath after a day spent covered in sunblock.

9. WATER: Last but not least; water. Drink your water, people. This is probably the #1 tip for healthy skin whether it is summer or winter.  I love this Hydroflask Water Bottle with a Straw Lid. The flask keeps your beverage cool while the straw makes it easy to sip all day long.

Hopefully this helps you keep your skin protected & glowing all summer long!
